Celebrate Christmas in style with these festive menus from London’s culinary hot-spots
With roaring fireplaces and the comforting aroma of cinnamon and cloves, The Lanesborough is the most decadent setting for Christmas lunches. A festive menu will be available at Michelin-starred Céleste from 24 November to 23 December which includes truffle artichoke soup, traditional roast turkey and Aubenas chestnut, meringue and pear sorbet. On the day itself, a lavish five-course Christmas lunch fashioned by Michelin-starred Chefs Eric Frechon and Florian Favario will be served in the palatial setting of Céleste, while festive afternoon tea will be served in The Withdrawing Room, with Christmas pastries and cool Taittinger Champagne.
This South West London hotspot is planning a festive menu featuring a game roast of hare, hen of the woods, winter truffle and fresh chestnuts. With its modern cooking, contemporary cocktail offering and laid-back setting, it’s the ideal location for a spot of seasonal revelry.
THE PIG & BUTCHER
Nowhere does Christmas quite like a cosy pub, but the Pig & Butcher is a particular favourite of ours. In the run-up to the festive period, they’ve created a menu filled with festive classics including stuffed Turkey and Honey Roast Ham served with all the trimmings. For dessert, the obligatory Yule log will be served alongside a white chocolate Christmas bauble and a mulled winter fruit crumble.
DUCK & WAFFLE
Duck & Waffle have some decadent festive menus planned from their perch above the city. On Christmas Day, the much-loved London hot-spot will be offering a set menu between 11.30am – 4pm at £85 per head and serving a la carte before and after. The Christmas feast includes bacon-wrapped dates and braised beef short ribs, while the vegetarian menu offers caramelised celeriac and truffle soup, followed by Jerusalem artichoke ravioli.
NO. 1A DUKE STREET
With soup, salmon, traditional turkey and more on the menu, you really can’t go wrong with choosing No. 1a Duke Street for your festive feast. Where you can go wrong, is not leaving room for dessert. The tantalising dessert options include cranachan, white & dark chocolate mousse and an impressive sticky toffee Christmas pudding.
DEAN STREET TOWNHOUSE
This boutique hotel and all-day dining room is a favourite for those looking for fine-dining in the heart of bustling Soho. Their Christmas Day offering promises a traditional turkey with all the trimmings, as well as a wild mushroom wellington for vegetarians. For dessert, there will be all of the obligatory sweet treats of a British festive feast including Christmas pudding with brandy butter and a tipsy trifle.
THE GILBERT SCOTT
Decadent and dazzling, where better to celebrate Christmas this year than at The Gilbert Scott? They are offering an extravagant six-course menu for the big day with a tantalising offering including chicken liver pate with granola and brioche, Waldgrove Farm turkey with all the trimmings and a dark chocolate, pistachio and clementine pudding.
This new modern British tavern is the perfect hangout for the party season, with hearty sharing plate options by Michel Roux Jr available from November and two exclusive areas to hire – The Green Room and The Snug. Join the team on Christmas Day to watch the Queen’s Speech live and indulge in one of three festive menus, each created with exceptional British produce.
