Being vegan no longer involves the austerity it once did, thanks to a growing number of eateries catering to the meat-free masses. Sweet treats and baked goods were near-nonexistent in the world of veganism, but with the number of British vegans having tripled in the last decade, the food industry took note. From indulgent tortes to creamy cakes and indulgent bakes, these are some of the tastiest vegan desserts in London.
CHOCOLATE CARAMEL TORTE AT NAMA FOODS
The dessert menu at Nama has an exceptionally strong line-up but hands down one of the most decadent and delicious is the chocolate torte. Sticky date caramel, chocolate icing, maple glaze make this taste devilishly indulgent.
BLACK BEAN BROWNIE AT ETHOS FOODS
A rich and indulgent chocolate treat with a base of black beans. Vegans and non-vegans alike find it hard to resist.
RAW CHOCOLATE ORANGE TIMBALE AT MANNA
Any dessert goes at 100% vegan restaurant Manna, but our favourite if the raw chocolate orange timbale. It’s a gluten free delight accompanied by raw coconut ice cream.
COOKIES AT COOKIES & SCREAM
This vegan bakery started life as a Camden Lock stall and now has the Bake Shop in Holloway Road and the Cookie Bat in Camden. Every product is dairy, egg, wheat and gluten free. The Choc Chip Cookie is a top seller; crisp on the outside and moist in the middle.
FREAKSHAKES AT THE CANVAS CAFE
An influx of freakshakes has consumed Instagram accounts of late, but these tankards of thick dairy and sugary goodness does not a happy vegan make. The Canvas Cafe have done wonders with soy and almond milk so now everyone can get involved. Top yours with vegan meringue and almond macarons, whipped soy cream or melted dark chocolate.
BANOFFEE PIE AT REDEMPTION BAR
One in a host of not-so-naughty treats at Redemption Bar, this banoffee pie has a chewy, nutty chocolate base with medjool date salted caramel, bananas and coconut cream.

Food blogger and hero of health Ella Mills celebrates natural and honest food across her London-wide delis. The Deliciously Ella banana bread is available with coconut yoghurt and fruit compote.
NICE CREAM BROWNIE SUNDAE AT FARMACY
The clever people at Farmacy have given the sundae a spin so it’s vegan-friendly and totally irresistible. It’s packed with gooey brownie chunks, vanilla nice cream and fresh fruit, topped off with a drizzle of mac caramel.
