A TALE OF TWO CITIES
Dickens’s classic story, set during the French Revolution, is adapted for the stage this summer. It’s first in line in a two-part Dickens season at Regent’s Park open-air theatre, which ends with Oliver Twist for all ages. Set against a background of discontent in London and Paris, A Tale of Two Cities is the tale of the impoverished standing up against the aristocratic. With drama, comedy, battle action and love all rolled into one, this is not to missed.
THE GENIE’S CAVE AT CUTTER & SQUIDGE
London’s favourite all-natural bakery has transformed their Brewer Street store into ‘a whole new world’. The Genie’s Cave at Cutter & Squidge invites guests to travel deep underground to discover a deliciously mesmerising menu. All guests will begin with A Genie’s Welcome – a raspberry and pomegranate meringue amuse bouche that encases a delectable surprise. Other delights include Magic Carpet Cookies, Hidden Gem and a Ruby Dream Cake. Head down this weekend for the magical setting and an afternoon tea to remember.
URBAN ART FAIR
Josephine Avenue once again becomes an art fair this weekend, offering the perfect chance to buy work direct from artists themselves. It celebrated its 15th year last year, and offers a fun atmosphere for visitors. Exhibitors range from the novice to the established and with prices to match this really is an event for all tastes and budgets. There is also street food on offer and live street art being created, making it a fun outing for all ages.
FOLEY’S NEW MENU
Fitzrovia’s Foley’s has launched a brand new summer menu, packed with the very best from Asia and the Middle East. Headed up by breakthrough culinary talent, Mitz Vora, the menu splits into five sections each delivering signature Foley’s flavours. GQ BAR
Soak up the sun at the Holborn Dining Room this weekend. They’ve opened up their terrace to the GQ Bar Pop-Up this summer, inspired by the magazine and fast becoming one of the most stylish bars in town. GRAYSON PERRY: THE MOST POPULAR ART EXHIBITION EVER
British artist and one of the most astute commentators on contemporary culture, Grayson Perry presents this major exhibition of new work at the Serpentine Gallery. The works touch on many themes including popularity and art, masculinity and the current cultural landscape. Working in a variety of traditional media such as ceramics, cast iron, bronze, printmaking and tapestry, Perry is best known for his ability to combine delicately crafted objects with scenes of contemporary life.
