Absolutely reviews the newly opened Cloud Twelve Salon in Notting Hill

Cloud Twelve is a sanctuary away from the busy London lifestyle, offering the much-needed rest and rejuvenation required to face even the most hectic days. Catering for both internal and external wellness, Cloud Twelve only uses the most premium, natural and responsibly sourced products, right from their food and medical treatments all the way to their hair styling products.

I am here to experience a wash, cut and blowdry at the salon, which also offers hair colouring services as well as luxury manicures and pedicures. I am greeted by Abbey Chambers, the salon manager, hand-picked for her fifteen years of experience as a holistic and environmentally responsible hairdresser.

I am immediately made to feel comfortable and at ease upon entering, and offered a selection of vegan and gluten-free refreshments and nibbles. Abbey takes me to the chair and we discuss in length the current condition of my hair, the look I am hoping to achieve and her advice on what would suit me best. Having short curly hair, with a fringe, some hairdressers have trouble putting together a look that would suit me best, however Abbey, who is especially experienced with textured hair, was super confident she could create the look that would work for me. I am given a scalp massage using Cloud Twelve’s unique essential oils and then a hair wash and keratin treatment using premium Aveda products.

Whilst I tuck into my delicious tea with oat milk and a moist vegan brownie, Abbey gets to work on my hair. She carefully sections and works through the strands, continuously checking for symmetry as she goes. Since my hair is quite thick, we decide to add in some soft layers, and texturising to get rid of the excess weight and avoid the ‘cone-head’ look which us curlies are prone to. Usually most hairdressers avoid my fringe all together, and advise I grow it out, however Abbey checked the the condition of my fringe and impressively gave it a beautiful trim to suit my hair in both curly and straight styles. The salon offers complimentary fringe-trims which is super handy and makes maintenance of a fringe a lot easier.

Abbey finishes with some heat protection spray and a straight blow dry so I can see the cut clearly. My hair feels much lighter and healthier, and blends seamlessly in all the right places.
