It's time to celebrate and raise a glass (of Prosecco, no less) as London gets its very first festival dedicated to our favourite fizzy beverage

Words Helen Brown

Prosecco lovers will be very excited to hear that London is hosting its first ever festival dedicated to the fizzy tipple. For a three-day celebration of tastings, masterclasses, food and music, Italy’s leading producers will come together under one roof to bring their bubbles to the London masses.

Prosecco Springs will take place in East London’s Oval Space, Bethnal Green, from Friday 12th to Sunday 14th of May. Producers will be on hand to talk you through their produce, answer questions and host a series of masterclasses in conjunction with the acclaimed East London Wine School. Explore the process from grape to glass, discover different types of Prosecco and learn how to pair Prosecco with food.

Speaking of, a delicious and authentic Italian menu will be available to keep you steady on your feet. Serious fans of the fizz should keep an eye out for Risotto al Prosecco; but you can also expect a more traditional range of dishes from Venetian Cicchetti to antipasti sharing platters; charcuterie, cheeses and of course, plenty of pasta. The menu is set to pair perfectly with the Prosecco on offer, as will the live Jazz music and DJs providing a soundtrack to the weekend.

Tickets for a five hour session come in at £35 and entitle you to a glass of Prosecco from each of the eight producers at the event. To book your ticket visit the Prosecco Springs website.
