We visit the redeveloped David Lloyd Raynes Park, which offers you all manner of opportunities to improve your health and wellbeing

If the pandemic has made you re-prioritise your health and wellness, there’s no better time to get started on your fitness journey. A huge £7m makeover is currently underway at David Lloyd Raynes Park to firmly position it as one of the area’s leading health, spa, and racquets clubs.

Expect the latest fitness equipment at David Lloyd Raynes Park

The first phase of the investment is a revolutionary new 1,215m² gym space that opened mid-September. Alongside a large free weights area, functional training zones, low-impact cardio equipment and weight machines, the new space features an 8-station circuit by EGYM. Utilising the latest technology, the EGYM system delivers a bespoke and effective full body, resistance workout without the use of plates or free weights. The innovative EGYM Smart Strength machines guide you through every single session and your personalised training schedules to create ideal conditions for successful workouts.

There’s also an exclusive training zone for their newest group training innovation, Delta. Get results fast, regardless of your current fitness level and train with like-minded people across a six-week cycle to reach your peak fitness by utilising the benefits of progressive training. The new holistic area features the latest products from Five Concept, ideal for movement preparation and recovery.

Fitness enthusiasts will be thrilled to add the latest big thing in fitness to their routine. Blaze has taken the nation by storm, and now David Lloyd Clubs’ unique HIIT class is launching in Raynes Park. Set in its own purpose-built studio with 30 stations available, Blaze combines cardio training with strength and combat to give an all-round intense workout, and is designed to significantly improve cardiovascular fitness and burn calories fast. Participants will enjoy being part of a community brought together with the help of Myzone heart-rate monitoring, which encourages those in the class to reach their fitness goals.

At the heart of the new investment is a new luxurious super-spa, known as the Spa Retreat. The area will feature hydro pools, Finnish and salt saunas, crystal and citrus steam rooms, feature showers, a plunge pool, heated beds, and deep relaxation rooms. There’ll be a wide range of luxury facilities you can choose between to find peace and soothe your muscles.

The makeover also includes an extensive new outdoor leafy garden area called the Spa Garden, with a sauna, relaxation pods and a dedicated yoga and meditation area so you can unwind in the fresh air. Best of all, the spa pool is connected to the indoor spa pool, giving you the ability to swim in and out.
