Don’t let the heat get the best of your hair this summer with our expert tips to keeping your tresses frizz-free

TRY A SMOOTHING TREATMENT

“Summer has arrived and along with it comes the heatwave humidity. Keeping your hair looking on-point at all times can become challenging. I recommend our new Kerasilk Control De-frizz service for smooth frizz controlled hair that lasts from four to six weeks. This one-hour express service is perfect for holidays  to keep your hair tamed on the beach and by the pool.”

EMBRACE YOUR NATURAL TEXTURE

“Go with it and share your curls and waves with the world. The key to amazing summer hair is great condition, invest in a keratin based shampoo and conditioning treatment. Leave the treatment on for at least ten minutes – a personal favourite of mine is Kerasilk control range.”

BE STYLING SAVVY

“When it comes to styling products, combine a good quality leave-in condoner. My go-to is the KMS Moist Repair Leave-In Conditioner combined with a de-frizz oil, such as the Kerasilk Ultra Rich Keratin Care. Leave the hair to dry naturally for the most long lasting, glossy finish.”

If you have hair that suffers and acts out during a heatwave you will most likely already own a good oil. You can use this for more than styling, try working it into your cleansing regime by applying a generous amount to dry hair before washing as a pre-treatment or add a few pumps in with your hair mask for extra control.”

EXPERIMENT WITH NEW STYLES

“Summer allows us to wear our hair more casually so be playful with it. Experiment with soft low ponytails or bohemian side braids. Two styles that look great with gritty texture and waves. For the most natural beachy waves, wash your hair the night before and apply a leave in conditioner and some smoothing oil, then air dry the hair 80%. Smooth the roots with a natural bristle brush into two low rope braids and allow to dry overnight. Release in the morning for controlled beachy texture. Take that heatwave”
