Words Helen Brown
With the annual RHS Chelsea Flower just around the corner, London’s restaurant scene is blooming. There is a bunch of new menus and events for the city’s green-finger foodies to get stuck into to. Below is a few of London’s best floral offerings…
THE LUNCH FLOWER MENU AT ALAIN DUCASSE THE DORCHESTER
Alain Ducasse at The Dorchester are celebrating floral fever with a limited edition Lunch Hour menu. The menu – from Executive Chef Jean-Philippe Blondet – is playful and floral inspired. One highlight is the ‘Flowering vegetable garden with a fresh herb condiment.’ The hotel itself has been decked out in floral finery too. The Lunch Flower Menu is accompanied by whimsical floral displays adorning each window.

CHELSEA FLOWER SHOW AT MNKY HSE
This May, Mayfair’s latest hot spot, MNKY HSE, are launching a limited edition cocktail collection fro the RHS. With terrariums, cacti and succulents set to be a huge trend this year, MNKY HSE are creating three cocktails, each containing Mezcal. This is the smoky alcohol made from Mexico’s most famous plant, the Agave succulent. The cocktails will be on offer for the duration of the show.
FARMACY AND THEIR FLORALS
Plant-based restaurant Farmacy will be celebrating plant-power in more ways than one for the Chelsea Flower Show this year. A selection of their signature breakfast options are getting all floral and fancy. Bedecked with edible blooms, these dishes are good both for the body and the earth. Our favourite are the Chocolate Chip Warrier Waffles. Made from 100 % gluten free oats, protein and chia seeds with berries, house-made Nutella and coconut ‘yoghurt’.
THE BOTANIST SLOANE SQUARE GIN POP-UP
This year The Botanist Sloane Square has teamed up with Williams GB Gin to create two delightful, botanical cocktails. Both take inspiration from this year’s ‘Floral Safari’ theme, and are available via a truly ginspirational pop-up. Chelsea in Bloom will transform the local streets. Expect bold pops of colour, stunning floral displays and life-sized safari animals. A sweet and earthy Jungle Julep will be on offer alongside a unique Savannah Spritz. For anyone looking to ring in Spring with something more traditional, classic gin and tonics will be also be available.
