Finding the time and energy to exercise after a long, stressful day at work can be difficult, especially when you don’t have a regime in place or don’t know what kind of routine works best for you. As part of his Bootcamp and Breakfast in the Capital partnership with luxury hotel The Wellesley Knightsbridge, Matt Roberts and his team are offering to help you construct the best fitness regime to suit you. Matt and his team will provide tailored sessions based on consultations for guests of the hotel, which will then be combined with a nutritious and energising breakfast menu, followed by a relaxed stay at the hotel. This opportunity, coupled with the following tips are sure to motivate and set you on the right path.

1. Make an appointment with your trainer

Treat it like a meeting! After a busy or stressful day at work, you may not feel like visiting the gym – it can be easy to go home and put your feet up instead. Making an appointment with your trainer will keep you accountable, making you more likely to turn up and fit a workout into your day. You’ll feel better for it.

2. Make use of the spare time you do have

You may feel that you don’t have enough spare time to exercise, but make the most of whatever time you do have. If you’re an early riser, use this as an opportunity to squeeze a workout in before work – otherwise lunchtime workouts are a great way to break up your day and get away from your desk.

3. Keep your training fun

If you enjoy your sessions, you will look forward to them and make time to incorporate them into your routine. It’s also a perfect way to de-stress from work.

4. Don’t put too much pressure on training

Remember that some movement is better than zero movement. If you only have time for a quick workout, or the energy to do something a little more gentle, then this is still worthwhile and will benefit you both mentally and physically.

5. Utilise your journey into work

Too busy to hit the gym? Make the most of your commute. Walk where possible, get off one bus stop earlier, take the stairs instead of the lift, or even cycle to work if you can. Small changes will make a big difference.Bootcamp and Breakfast in the Capital is on offer from the Wellesley Knightsbridge from £815 for two people sharing a double room, thewellesley.co.uk
