Our favourite Michelin star restaurants in London

With new restaurants opening daily, London certainly has no shortage of great places to eat. But from our personal experience, if you are on the lookout for fine dining, these Michelin star restaurants are just one cut above the rest.

Dinner By Heston

Dinner by Heston Blumenthal located in Knightsbridge, provides an experience like no other, bringing historic British gastronomy to the present day. The meals have been curated by Chef Director, Ashley Palmer-Watts and Heston Blumenthal. The menu draws inspiration from historic kitchens and fairytales, such as King Henry VIII’s Hampton Court Palace Kitchen and dishes throughout Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland.

This is one of our favourites because the restaurant offers a set three-course lunch menu. The meat fruit and tipsy cake are the most Instagrammed dishes in the world, so we can guarantee the food will not only taste great, it’ll look exquisite.

Bibendum

Based in Chelsea, French chef Claude Bosi’s Bibendum is a must-visit. The first-floor restaurant located in the iconic Michelin building offers an affordable set three-course lunch menu. Fans of the chef’s previous ventures at Hibiscus will enjoy the recognisable classics available a la carte. A specifically designed art deco trolley serves Claude’s contemporary desserts. However, don’t just jump to the first-floor restaurant, be sure to check out the seafood and oyster bar located on the ground floor for a relaxed luxury bite.

Barrafina

Michelin star eat, Barrafina provides an exclusive dining experience. At this restaurant, diners share one long bar counter overlooking an open kitchen providing an all-encompassing dining experience. Head chef, Angel Zapata curates her menu to feature authentic regional dishes from across Spain, alongside a specials menu which changes daily for seasonal seafood. The restaurant offers a lunch and dinner service seven days a week, but provides no set menu. The tapas-orientated restaurant does not take bookings and has a maximum group size of four, so be sure to get in quick.

A. Wong

A. Wong does authentic Chinese cuisine, with a focus on innovation and showcasing the country’s food diversity. Chef Andrew has travelled all over China researching recipes and techniques, and this experience is evident in the restaurant’s menu. It’s one of our favourites because of the emphasis on sharing food, which is important in Chinese culture. The Dim Sum lunch is pay by piece and includes delicious bites such as a Shanghai steamed dumpling with ginger infused vinegar, quail egg croquette puff, and a 63 degree ‘tea egg’ with shredded filo pastry.

Alain Ducasse

michelin star

Awarded 3 Michelin stars, Alain Ducasse at The Dorchester is one of the UK’s most prestigious restaurants and certainly one of the best Michelin star restaurants in London. They offer unrivalled cuisine from executive Chef Jean-Philippe Blondet who is consistently championing seasonal produce in his ever-changing menu. On offer is French contemporary haute-cuisine, with ingredients sourced from British and French suppliers. We recommend to try the tasting menu which features dishes such as Dorset crab with celeriac and caviar, confit duck foie gras pickled pumpkin and seeds saddle of venison with parsnip and peanut, and an assortment of French cheeses.
